Physical Location

Falling Waters Nantahala, Wildwater Nantahala & Nantahala Gorge Canopy Tours are located on Hwy 74 West, 12 miles southwest of Bryson City, North Carolina. We recommend Hwy 74/23 versus Hwy. 19 for time and better roads. Please check your map to confirm driving routes.

From Asheville, NC

1.5 hours, travel west on I-40. Take Exit 27 to merge onto US-74 W toward Clyde/US-23/Waynesville/Maggie Valley/Franklin/Murphy/Atlanta. Stay on 74 West for approx 30 minutes. About 12 miles past Bryson City, Hwy 74 narrows from four lanes to two lanes, from this point Wildwater Nantahala is 1.8 miles on the left. Wildwater Yurts and Group Lodge & Nantahala Gorge Canopy Tours are on the right across the street from Wildwater Nantahala.

From Atlanta, GA

3.5 hours, take I-85 North to I-985 North (in Gainesville) to I-365 North (in Cornelia) to 441 North past Franklin, NC, to Dillsboro. In Dillsboro, take Hwy 74 towards Bryson City. About 12 miles past Bryson City, Hwy 74 narrows from four lanes to two lanes, from this point Wildwater Nantahala is 1.8 miles on the left. Wildwater Yurts and Group Lodge & Nantahala Gorge Canopy Tours are on the right across the street from Wildwater Nantahala.

From Murphy, NC

Follow Hwy 19 North past the Nantahala River. The Wildwater Ltd. Nantahala Rafting Center is on Hwy 19, five minutes past the take-out on your right.

From Bryson City, NC

Take the Great Smoky Mountain Expressway (19/74) until US 19 South turns to the left, stay on 19 South toward Murphy, NC. The Wildwater Ltd. Nantahala Rafting Center will be on the left, approximately 1.8 miles from the junction.

From Franklin, NC

1 hour of mountain driving, take 28 North to US 19/74, turn left onto 19/74. When highway splits, bear left on 19/74 South. The Wildwater Ltd. Nantahala Rafting Center will be on your left, approximately 1.8 miles from the junction.

Alternate From Franklin, NC

(straighter roads, but more miles) Take 441 North to Dillsboro, pick up US 19/74 West/South toward Bryson City. Stay on 19/74. When it turns left toward Murphy, NC the Wildwater Ltd. Nantahala Rafting Center will be on the left approximately 1.8 miles from the junction.
